How Time Flys

It has been 2 months since I last posted a blog. and boy has there been a lot going on in the Dunn Family's lives. Avery started Covenant Academy in K-4 at the first of August and Ayden started back at Mother's Morning Out in his 2 year old class. Avery loves school and is learning a lot already. Each week, the class learns a new letter and with the letter there is a bible verse. On Fridays, the student has an opportunity to say the verse to the teacher. So far, Avery is doing great. He is a lefty, so the teacher has been working extra hard to help Avery learn to trace his letters and numbers. Ayden is learning his color and shapes. At his age, Avery knew so much more, but Ayden is getting it....Slowly. I am also starting a full-time job at a local hospital. I am excited. I begin on September 21st. I will be the admission/discharge nurse for four medical/surgical floors from 3p-11p. I will help out the floor nurses with admissions and discharges but won't take a full patient load. The hours are perfect for our family. Robbie is usually home by 4:00pm every day. We did hire a college girl to come to our home every day from 2:15 until daddy gets home to cover a short window in between our jobs. I don't have to work weekends or holidays, so that is nice. I get full benefits which are excellent when you work for a hospital. That is an answer to prayer because the benefits from Robbie's job would increase so much every year. Robbie is loving his job and he is staying very healthy. I have been feeling good too. I chopped my hair off. It is a whole lot easier to take care of. Well I will write more later. Hope everyone is well.

Hello Again!

Don't know if anyone really checks this any more since I don't write much. I was actually reading my cousins when I decided to write a short update. Not on my home computer so I will have to add pictures later. We are having a great summer. Robbie and I went to Mexico for a week. We needed a trip after all we have been through these past two years. The boys split their time here at home between Nana's and Granny's. They didn't miss us for a second. Robbie stays busy at work. I am also working 3-4 nights a week to help pay for private school for Avery in the fall. The boys and I go to the gym 4 times a week. There is a daycare there that they love to go to. I also take them on weekly trips around Macon. We've been to the summer movie program, Twin Oaks farm, Amphora pottery studio, Monkey Joe's, and swimming at Nana's pool. It's been nice to sleep in a bit and just do what we want. We are going to the beach as a family for Labor day. I have been feeling really good recently (knock on wood). Robbie celebrated his 30th birthday this year with a surprise party. Well that is a quick run down. Will try to upload photos soon. Until then you can visit our new web site at www.dunnfamily143.shutterfly.com.

Wee-Ball

It has been a while since I posted an entry. I don't even know if anyone still follows me or not. We have been so busy around here. I was only supose to go back to work 2 nights a week. well that turned into 30 hours a week. The boys are busy in Mother's Morning Out. We registered Avery for K-4 at a local Private school. I can't believe we have one starting school. Avery just started Wee-Ball. It's T-ball for 3 & 4 year olds. He is on the Cubs. His first game is March 14. We have only had practice once a week. The first practice he got bored and gave up. but he is doing better now and really likes "baseball". Ayden potty trained himself recently. I was going to get started with him this summer, but he decided he wanted to be like his big brother. We still have accidents but he is doing very well. This is a quick catch-up on our busy lives.

Glad the holidays are over!

I love the holidays, but this year was very busy. We had family come in town and we traveled. Add my job to the mix and I was very stressed this season. I am glad to get back to some sort of regular schedule. I have been working a lot more than originally intended. We have bills that we need to pay off, so I have been picking up extra shifts. It is starting to ware on me. I work 3 or 4 nights a week. Then I keep up with the house and take the boys to and from MMO. Plus cook meals for the hole week in advance to help Robbie on the nights I am not home. I am tired all the time. I just pray that I stay healthy because I don't have time to be sick.

We are in the process of enrolling Avery in Covenant Academy. We went to an open house last Thursday and we have an interview with the headmaster this Thursday. It is a really great school so we pray that he will be accepted. It is hard to believe that we will have one starting school next year. The boys have always been in some sort of school since they were 6 months old. We put them in MMO at a near by church so next year won't be too big of a shock for Avery. It will probably be more difficult on mommy than Avery.

Ayden is going through a tough stage right now. He is being very mean for some reason. I guess he feels like he has to be mean to keep up with his big brother. We pray it is just a phase that he will soon grow out of because I am tire of spanking him all day long.

I hope I will have the time to continue to blog on a regular basis.

Ayden in the hospital

The reason there is such a big time spand between the Thanksgiving post and the Christmas post is because we have been dealing with Ayden being very sick. Actually, he doesn't act sick, he just is sick. He runs all over the place with a smile on his face, but he has been going to the bathroom any where from 5 to 13 times a day. Robbie has Chron's disease and we were very scared for a while that maybe Ayden was showing signs of having the same thing. He was loosing a lot of weight and using the restroom several times a day. He became dehydrated so the doctors put him in the hospital for 5 days. The put his belly on rest with nothing to eat and only IV fluids. They did a bunch of blood and stool tests along with a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. It took a while for everything to come back and the good news is he does not have Chron's disease. We have done some diet changes and we are still watching him but he is doing better. Thank you Jesus.

Merry Christmas

We hope you all had a very merry Christmas. The Dunn household was full of excitement. We staid in town for Christmas. Robbie's sister came in from Texas. We spent a lot of time with his family. My parents were in Orlando. We will celebrate Christmas with my side of the family in South Carolina over New Years. That's one way to spread out Christmas. There is nothing more magical than children at Christmas. Our tradition is that we all put on matching jammies on Christmas Eve. Open a special ornament to put on the tree the night before Christmas. Then we read the Christmas story of the baby Jesus and set out cookies for Santa and head off to bed. Then the work begins for mommy and daddy. We don't put one thing under our tree until the morning of Christmas. It's just fun to see their eyes light up when they see all of the presents. Some are wrapped and some are not. We let the kids open their stuff and while they are playing with their new toys, Robbie and I open our stuff. Then we eat donuts and milk and play the rest of the day. I had to work half of the day. But the boys went to Granny's for Christmas dinner. We have a lot of special times at our home. We hope you all do the same.

Hello Again

It has been a long time since I have written. I have been so busy. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. And now it is almost Christmas. We went up to South Carolina for Thanksgiving to spend time with my sister and brother. It was fun, but stressful for me. I don't travel well with little ones. No one sleeps well or eats well away from home. I hate to pack and unpack. and there is always an adjustment time to and from. And we will be doing it all again for new years. I don't know if any of you knew, but Ayden just got out of the hospital. He was in for 5 days with dehydration. He was in from Sunday Dec. 7th until Thursday Dec. 11th. He was a very sick little boy. We were scared he may have Chron's disease like his daddy. but so far so good. We are still waiting for some test results. Continue to pray please. We are still hustling and bustling through the season with baking and shopping. I can't wait to slow down. We have enjoyed seeing all of your family pictures. I will promise to write more soon and put more pictures in. But ta-ta for now.
